Company History

Kawasaki started their powersports line in Japan more than 70 years ago. In the mid-1960s, the American Kawasaki Motorcycle Corporation opened in an old meat warehouse in Chicago, and began developing two-stroke motorcycles. Quickly learning that Americans preferred power and performance in their motorcycles, the new brand began developing heavy, powerful models like the Samurai and the Avenger. In 1973, the company expanded beyond the road, starting with making personal watercraft models. A three-wheeled ATV followed in 1981, with a four-wheeled model released in 1985. Throughout the years, Kawasaki has continued to expand their lineup of powersports toys to suit an ever-changing market. The company’s growing American success prompted it to create a unified distribution network to ensure excellent customer service and great deals across the country. With their keen market sense and dedication to manufacturing high-quality products that last, Kawasaki continues to produce vehicles with widespread appeal and popularity.
